About Men Of Faith

Men of Faith was originated in January 2002 by James Anderson, a theology student at Canadian University College. James has a love of gospel music, quartet singing and male chorus. He had previously started a male chorus in Ontario and decided that he would like to start one in Lacombe. He found quite a few men interested within the College Heights Community and soon the Men of Faith chorus was formed. The group has ranged from 6 - 23 people with most of the members not being professional musicians, but rather regular members of the community including doctors, nurses, technicians, professors, students etc. All the men enjoy singing together in a wide range of gospel songs. Men of Faith travel around to various churches within Alberta and often sing for various other concerts in and around Lacombe. Several times they have also joined with a local ladies chorus, Highest Praise, for special concerts. In spring of 2004 the group decided to record a CD and in the Fall their first album entitled "Singing On The Way Home" was released. For Thanksgiving 2005 the group decided to expand their singing territory and went on a small tour of the BC's Okanagan. Since James Anderson left directing in Dec 2004, the group has continued through several changes , but they continue to remain focused on God and love singing praises to Him. In September 2006, Bruce Boyd took over conducting the Men of Faith and they look forward to singing together.

1st Tenors
	Raymond Hansen is a music instructor who enjoys cycling and guitar. He sings 1st tenor.
	Phil Jeffrey sings first tenor.
	Pierre Robergeau sings first tenor.
	Cornelius Fehr sings first tenor.
	Isaac Zayachkowski sings 2nd tenor. He is married to Berna and they have 2 daughters. He is the educational superintendent for the Alberta Conference and enjoys sports and auto restoration.

2nd Tenors
	Henry Collins is married to Dell. Now that he is retired he enjoys having the time for woodworking and music. He sings 2nd tenor.
	Ron Bissell sings 2nd tenor.
	Keith Clark sings 2nd tenor.

Baritones
	Arvin McCarty sings baritone.
	Kelvin Hill sings baritone and states that he is happily married to Marcia and they are busy with a teenage son and pre-teenage daughter. His profession is dentistry.
	Ken McPhersonsings baritone.
	Bob Bruce sings baritone and is married to Vicki & has a daughter, a son & three grandchildren. He is a retired electronics technician, a ham radio operator & loves to tinker.

Bass
	Terry Foulston is married to Judy and has 1 daughter, 3 sons, 1 daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren. He is a registered nurse who loves to sing, play sports and read.
	Reuben Lorenson is a college professor and leads a busy life with his hobbies, including hockey, cross-country skiing, photography, rock climbing, hiking, music and travel. He sings bass and is married to Marilyn.
	Aron Markosky sings bass and just joined us from Ontario.
	Gerrit Steenbergen is married to Merlè and they have a son and daughter-in-law. Gerrit sings bass and plays guitar. He is an electronics technician and keeps in shape by running.

Director & Pianists
	Bruce Boyd started directing the Men of Faith in September 2006. He also plays the banjo.
	Joanne Nischuk is the principal pianist and also works on musical arrangements. She enjoys gardening, collecting cookbooks, and playing piano and organ. She cooks wonderful Ukranian dishes too!
	Nancy Foreman works in hospitality. She plays piano for the group and enjoys reading, camping, hiking and music.

Previous Members
	Dennis Heintz is a 2nd tenor. He and his wife Marlene have 3 children, Nathan, Kaily and Aimee. He has been a pastor for 30 years.
	Loren Agrey works in college administration and is married to Shelley. They have four children. Loren loves singing second tenor and enjoys running. He recently completed his doctorate degree in education.
	Leighton Nischuk is a physician and businessman in Lacombe who enjoys auto restoration, carpentry, and music. He is married to Joanne and they have 3 children. He sings 2nd tenor.
	Barry Geates is a physician in Lacombe. He is married to Faye and they have one son. He loves the outdoors and is building his dream home.
	Eric Anderson sings first tenor and is attending CaUC. He has the nerve to admit to us Westerners that his favourite hockey team is the Peterborough Petes!
	Lew Fleck sang first tenor.
	Wilf Fedusenko sang 2nd tenor. He is married to Debbie. They have a son & daughter who are twins.
	Joe Shewchuk, bass singer, enjoys sports and travel, and he is currently the director of plant services at CUC. He and his wife Lisa have worked all over the world. They have three children.
	Charles Pierce is a musician, well-known as the church organist for many years at CUC. He enjoys stamp collecting and painting and is married to Beatrice.
	Roy Looyenga sangs 2nd Tenor. He directed and sang in serveral quartets and men's choirs over the years.
	Mark La Flamme is a graduate of Canadian University College where he earned a Bachelor's degree in liberal arts with an emphasis in music (vocal performance). He sang first tenor with the Men of Faith.
	Bob Condron is a college student, married to Lourena. They have 2 sons. Bob sang baritone.
	Errol Lawrence is a professor of religious studies at CUC and is married to Pam. They have 4 children. Errol sang bass and his hobbies include travel, soccer, cricket, tennis, reading and swimming.
	Janice Clark conducted the Men of Faith for a short time during 2005/2006 after James Anderson left for Ontario until Bruce Boyd took over in fall of 2006. She is married to Jim and they have 5 children. She is a school teacher and enjoys gardening and sewing in all her spare time!
